I simply love this book. I found the writing beautiful and profound. I probably wouldn't recommend it to everyone but if you like beautiful writing and have a rebellious side and don't mind the talk of God. Great book. If you are closed minded. Not the best. It's a book of fables , short stories, poetry, and aphorisms. One of my favourites, two infants.

After reading the line, "I am the silver threads the gods cast down from the heights, and Nature takes me to adorn the valleys" (song of the rain), I decided that I had to own this book, even though I already owned several of the books contained within it.When I ordered this book, I also ordered "The Forerunner", not knowing that it would be included within. I wish that someone had posted the table of contents for me, so that I wouldn't have spent the extra money.If you love any of Khalil Gibran's writings, this book is a wonderful addition to your library.

This was a replacement for one I have had since the mid 1970's and I lost. It has and will continue to be a great read. This particular version is very nicely done. If you truly appreciate the written word you will cherish this volume.

Let me encourage you all, get a copy of this book and read a paragraph or two "a day; this will keep the devil away". Kahlil Gibran the Collected Works (Everyman's Library) contains some of Gibran's best works (The Madman, The Prophet, Sand and Foam, Jesus the Son of Man, Spirits Rebellious) in one volume. In addition, the book contains more than eighty of his drawings.Gibran is a Lebanese (-American; by immigration) philosopher, poet, and artist. His works are about love, freedom, loving-kindness, beauty and death; "...therein lies [our] honour and [our] reward".Without hesitation, I highly recommend this inspiring and enlightening book to everyone.

What a gift this book is. Though I don't like poetry, the section on poetry in this book was interesting. Additionally, the book is broken down into several parts and should be required reading for all people. Especially those who are Spiritually minded

Insightful and relevant even today. This book is a great collection good for anytime reading whether you have all day to read or just a ten minute break. Gibran is an excellent writer and his work is powerfully emotive.

Everything this brilliant man wrote is well - brilliant - you cannot go wrong with any of his work! it is truly timeless! Enjoyment at its finest in a book!
